Prime Minister Robert Abela visited the Embassy Hotel in Valletta, the largest hotel in the capital city and one which has recently opened its doors after a € 13 million investment. During his visit, Dr Abela met the workers who work at this hotel where they spoke positively about way that they were resuming their work routine.
The four-star hotel is part of an ambitious project at the Embassy complex. The 11 storey project at the Embassy hotel comprises 81 rooms, two restaurants, a bar, a meeting room, a temperature-controlled rooftop swimming pool for year-round use and fitness and beauty parlours.
Six cinemas have been retained on the bottom floors, with a small one that can be rented as a private cinema and some other shops which have taken the opportunity to expand their space.
Prime Minister Robert Abela pointed out that while we must remain cautious because the pandemic is not over, operators in the tourism sector also believe that a better time is coming.
“I have promised that our support as a government will remain there and that we should not be discouraged, as evidenced by the investment made in this complex,” said Prime Minister Abela.
Managing Director Bettina Azzopardi said that this project reflects the vision of the company to create the most modern and comfortable accommodation and recreation centre in the center of Valletta.
She added, “We are optimistic that now that the tourist market for Malta has reopened, the hotel will be the ideal place for those who visit our country and want to discover more about our history and culture while experiencing life in the capital. The demand we are having for hotel accommodation for the coming months is very encouraging, and we are expecting a very positive summer. In addition, the hotel together with the cinemas and other shops offer an opportunity for those Maltese who want to experience a different aspect in their country”.
